Sea of Galilee

 

   The sunset picture was taken from the northeast side of the lake. On the right side is the Valley of BethSaida, where the northern Jordan River flows into the lake. Below the sun's low position is the area where Capernaum is located.

 

 Jesus, according to the texts, sailed from the bottom left side - near Kursi where he left the boat - towards the other side.

Mark 5:21: "And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea.".

 

Matthew 9:1: "And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city". 

 

Luke 8:37: "...and he went up into the ship, and returned back again".
