Mk
10:13: "And they brought
young children to him, that
he should touch them: and
his disciples rebuked those
that brought them. But when
Jesus saw it, he was much
displeased, and said unto
them, Suffer the little
children to come unto me,
and forbid them not: for of
such is the kingdom of God.
Verily I say unto you,
Whosoever shall not receive
the kingdom of God as a
little child, he shall not
enter therein. And he took
them up in his arms, put his
hands upon them, and blessed
them.
And
when he was gone forth into
the way, there came one
running, and kneeled to him,
and asked him, Good Master,
what shall I do that I may
inherit eternal life? And
Jesus said unto him, Why
callest thou me good? there
is none good but one, that
is, God. Thou knowest the
commandments, Do not commit
adultery, Do not kill, Do
not steal, Do not bear false
witness, Defraud not, Honour
thy father and mother. And
he answered and said unto
him, Master, all these have
I observed from my youth.
Then Jesus beholding him
loved him, and said unto
him, One thing thou lackest:
go thy way, sell whatsoever
thou hast, and give to the
poor, and thou shalt have
treasure in heaven: and
come, take up the cross, and
follow me. And he was sad at
that saying, and went away
grieved: for he had great
possessions".
Mt
19:13-24: "Then were
there brought unto him
little children, that he
should put his hands on
them, and pray: and the
disciples rebuked them. But
Jesus said, Suffer little
children, and forbid them
not, to come unto me: for of
such is the kingdom of
heaven. And he laid his
hands on them, and departed
thence.
And,
behold, one came and said
unto him, Good Master, what
good thing shall I do, that
I may have eternal life? And
he said unto him, Why
callest thou me good? there
is none good but one, that
is, God: but if thou wilt
enter into life, keep the
commandments. He saith unto
him, Which? Jesus said, Thou
shalt do no murder, Thou
shalt not commit adultery,
Thou shalt not steal, Thou
shalt not bear false
witness, Honour thy father
and thy mother: and, Thou
shalt love thy neighbour as
thyself. The young man saith
unto him, All these things
have I kept from my youth
up: what lack I yet? Jesus
said unto him, If thou wilt
be perfect, go and sell that
thou hast, and give to the
poor, and thou shalt have
treasure in heaven: and come
and follow me. But when the
young man heard that saying,
he went away sorrowful: for
he had great possessions.
Then said Jesus unto his
disciples, Verily I say unto
you, That a rich man shall
hardly enter into the
kingdom of heaven. And again
I say unto you, It is easier
for a camel to go through
the eye of a needle, than
for a rich man to enter into
the kingdom of God".
Lk
18:15: "And they brought
unto him also infants, that
he would touch them: but
when his disciples saw it,
they rebuked them. But Jesus
called them unto him, and
said, Suffer little children
to come unto me, and forbid
them not: for of such is the
kingdom of God. Verily I say
unto you, Whosoever shall
not receive the kingdom of
God as a little child shall
in no wise enter therein.
And a
certain ruler asked him,
saying, Good Master, what
shall I do to inherit
eternal life? And Jesus said
unto him, Why callest thou
me good? none is good, save
one, that is, God. Thou
knowest the commandments, Do
not commit adultery, Do not
kill, Do not steal, Do not
bear false witness, Honour
thy father and thy mother.
And he said, All these have
I kept from my youth up. Now
when Jesus heard these
things, he said unto him,
Yet lackest thou one thing:
sell all that thou hast, and
distribute unto the poor,
and thou shalt have treasure
in heaven: and come, follow
me. And when he heard this,
he was very sorrowful: for
he was very rich. And when
Jesus saw that he was very
sorrowful, he said, How
hardly shall they that have
riches enter into the
kingdom of God! For it is
easier for a camel to go
through a needle's eye, than
for a rich man to enter into
the kingdom of God".
