Cana of the Galilee

Khirbet Cana is one of the most likely candidates for the site of Jesus's first miracle (event 6), turning water to wine, and the second miracle, healing the official's son (event 16).

Although the traditional place is in the modern village of Kefar Kenna, closer (6KM, 3.7Miles) to Nazareth, there are other scholars that favor this featured site.

The photo is from Khirbet Cana, with a view towards the east. The fields of the valley of Netufa are seen in the far right background, and Nazareth is located behind the valley in a distance. This photo shows the Byzantine synagogue or church that is located on the south at the top of the hill.

John 4 45-46:

"Then when he was come into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all the things that he did at Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast. So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine".
